TexShare Databases
Hewitt Public Library card holders have access to the many varied databases available through the Texas State Library TexShare program. These databases will link you to magazine and newspaper articles, journal articles, ebooks, maps and more to answer your research or reference question. Come into the library and ask a library staff member on how to get started.

TexShare Card
The TexShare Card allows patrons to borrow materials from over 500 library collections all across Texas. The card is accepted in a wide variety of public and academic libraries, allowing borrowers in good standing access to hundreds of books and other materials that would previously have been unobtainable. A patron's library card, in combination with the TexShare Card, is a ticket to a powerful network of library resources in Texas.

Hewitt Library patrons may obtain a TexShare card under the following conditions:
- You must be a library card holder in good standing (no overdue or lost books and no library fines) for at least six months.
- 2. Your card must show recent activity - at least six months of checking out/in at least one item per month.
- 3. To obtain or renew a TexShare card you must bring in a current proof of residency (bill or official piece of mail no older than 30 days) and a picture i.d.
TexShare cards are valid for 6 months. |
