During the summer months the library hosts a summer program with various activities for children of all ages.  A reading club is also offered for all library patrons to join.  Teens have the opportunity to volunteer at the library.  Details available here and at the circulation desk each May.

The Texas Reading Club is designed to encourage youth to read for pleasure and to promote library usage.

A statewide theme is selected each year. The theme for 2010 is Catch the Reading Express! The artist is children's book illustrator Kim Doner

Texas Teens Read! is designed to encourage teens to read during their summer vacations and become lifelong readers and library users, to provide engaging programs for teens, and to establish the library as a safe space for teens.

A statewide theme is selected annually for Texas Teens Read! The 2010 Theme is Within Arms Reach: The Future is Yours!
