Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial ReportingAudit

The City of Hewitt has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for 16 years of excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The award is given to local governments that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.

Distinguished Budget Presentation AwardBudget Information

The City of Hewitt, Texas, has received the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 17th year. The award signifies the governing body's high level of commitment to providing the highest principles of governmental budgeting. An entity has to have satisfied nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation to receive the award.

Texas Comptroller Leadership CircleFinancial Transparency

The Comptroller of Public Accounts launched the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle program in December 2009 to recognize local governments across Texas that are striving to meet a high standard for financial transparency online. The City of Hewitt was awarded the SILVER Leadership Circle Award by the Texas Comptroller on August 30, 2011.

Notice of Adopted 2019 Tax Rate

This budget will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $381,654 which is a 7.6% increase from last year's budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $150,382.
