Please pay online at www.cityofhewitt.com or pay in person in our office by 4pm and the city will reconnect service between 1pm and 5pm. There is a reconnection fee of $50.00. If payment is made after 4pm, service will be reconnected the next business day between 1pm and 4pm.

Come to the Utility Billing Department no later than 11:00 am of the day you want the service started, fill out a contract and pay the deposit and connect fee. Deposit for water service ranges from $80 to $180 plus a $30.00 connection fee.
You may come to the Utility Billing Department anytime up to 11:00 am of the same day you want service. You may also submit your request on our Utility Billing Department page. The request is submitted through a third party and then received by our staff. We process each request as time permits. We would then email you the amount required for Deposit and Service fees. This must all be completed before 11:00 am the day you would need services. Of course, request can be made prior to the day service is needed.
If you already have water service with City of Hewitt and need to transfer it to another City of Hewitt address can be done a couple of ways either online or emailing the form to us. These options can be found under FORMS on the Utility Billing Department Page. There are two sections, Online Forms or Forms To Submit By Email. Email version should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note there is a $30 fee for transfers.
Yes, you can pay online at www.cityofhewitt.com. Click on Pay Online under the picture and then Utilities Payment on the next page. You will need to enter your account number and customer pin number which can be found on the top right corner of your water bill. From the drop down box, you can choose to either make a one time payment or register for additional services. Registering for additional services means that you are choosing to be set up on a bank draft, which will draft the day your bill is due each month from your banking account or credit card.
Make sure no water is being used in the house including dishwashers, showers or washing machine. Go out to the meter and check the digital register. If register is not active, shine a bright light on it. If there is a continuous flow of water, an arrow or faucet will appear on the register.

Some months have 31 days and when a month has five Fridays, there are extra days in the billing period, but you will only be billed twelve times per year.
