Chief Christian oversees all Fire Department operations and serves as the Fire Code Official. He started as the Hewitt Fire Chief on July 5, 2022. Chief Christian graduated from the First MCC Fire Academy in 1997 and began his career in Temple, TX, in 1998. He served the City of Temple for over 24 years before joining us in Hewitt. During his time in Temple, he served in many different ranks and capacities, including; Fire Fighter, Driver, Captain, Fire Marshal, Training/Battalion Chief, and Assistant Chief. Chief Christian graduated from the University of Houston Clear Lake, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Service Leadership. He is a Master Firefighter, Licensed Paramedic, Peace Officer, Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector, Plans Examiner, Instructor III Coordinator, Driver Pump Operator, Fire Officer IV, Hazardous Materials Technician, Confined Space Technician, Vertical Rescue Technician, Swift Water Rescue Technician and Public Information Officer. Chief Christian has also completed certification as a TEEX Fire Service Chief Executive Officer and the Texas Fire Chiefs Association’s Certified Executive Officer. Chief Christian has lived in Hewitt and the surrounding community since 1991 and is looking forward to serving the Hewitt Community that he has been a part of for many years.
