Don't let the holidays stop you from building healthy reading habits! The 2025 Winter Reading Challenge is open to all ages and reading levels. Read two hours a week to complete the program - that's all there is to it. For every 60 minutes of reading, you'll earn a digital ticket to grand prize drawings. Pick and choose how many of your tickets you want for each prize option. At the end of the challenge, HPL will draw for the winners!

Challenge Overview

1. We challenge you to read at least 600 minutes during the month of December and track that time in Beanstack. Share your progress with friends and family in the app or on social media (be sure to tag us!). 
2. As you record your reading time, you will earn badges for your Beanstack collection.
3. Reach the reading goal to complete the challenge and earn the completion badge! Extra badges are also available by participating in special events throughout the month.

Win a Prize

• Earn a badge for every 60 minutes of reading. The completion badge awards a special prize!
• Each badge awards an entry into the grand prize drawing. Completing the bonus activities will award extra entries.
• Winners will be drawn randomly. Completing the program is not necessary to be eligible for the final drawing as long as the participant has earned at least one badge.

How to Participate

Visit our Beanstack page. Click the "register" button if you need to create an account, or click the "sign in" button to access your existing account. Alternatively, use the Beanstack Tracker App on your phone or other mobile device (Apple | Android) to create, sign in, and manage your account. (With one account, you can set up and manage reader profiles for all of your family members!)

Logging Your Reading

1. Pre-Register for the challenge. It is open for all ages!
2. Click "Log Reading and Activities" (web) or the + icon (mobile) to log your minutes read.
3. You will automatically earn a badge for each 60 minutes logged.
4. The challenge is complete when you have logged 600 minutes!

Optional Activity Badges

Earn additional drawing entries by completing the activities listed in the challenge. Attending each activity will grant you a code to enter into Beanstack and earn the badge.
