Volunteering at the library is a great way to get involved in the community! Library visitors aged 16 and older may apply to volunteer with special events, shelving, activity preparation, and more.

- How do I get a library card?

Applications for a library card may be obtained from the circulation desk. Applicants must provide a Texas driver license or state-issued ID card and proof of residency dated within the last 30 days. Acceptable forms of proof of residency include a utility bill or piece of official mail addressed to the applicant.
- Do I have to live in Hewitt to get a library card?

No. Applications for library cards are available to non-residents of the City of Hewitt. To obtain a library card, present a photo ID and a piece of mail addressed to the applicant that is dated within the past 30 days. Note: Library cards are free for City of Hewitt and McLennan County residents. A $40 annual fee is assessed for all out-of-county cardholders.
- How do I access my account online?

Visit https://www.hewitt.biblionix.com/catalog/ and, in the top right corner, log in using your library card number and the phone number or password associated with it.
- Can I renew my books online?

Cardholders may visit https://hewitt.biblionix.com/catalog/ and log in using the card number located on the front of the library card and the matching phone number or password. Once logged in, click My Account, click Items Out/Renewals, and click Renew next to any renewable item.
- How do I place a book on hold?

Visit https://hewitt.biblionix.com/catalog/ and log in using your card number and phone number or password. Search the catalog and click on the item(s) you want to reserve. Click Place a Reserve. Library staff will notify you when the item is available for pickup.
- How many items may I check out?

There is a limit of 50 items checked out at one time. Of those 50 items, 5 may be audiobooks and 5 may be movies.
- How long do I get to keep the materials I check out?

Most items are checked out for 21 days, or three weeks. As long as an item is not overdue or on reserve for another patron, it may be renewed once.
